Human Services for Artists:

The Actor Fund's acclaimed Artists Health Insurance Resource Center website has re-launched with a complete redesign and a more powerful search engine, providing state-by-state information and resources to those seeking insurance.  The website is well-known as one of the most effective resources for comprehensive, unbiased information about getting and keeping affordable, quality health insurance and health care in every state.

The Artists Access Program at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn offers uninsured artists, musicians, dancers and art workers very affordable health care by paying as little as $15 for a physician visit, lab tests and X-Rays. Artists may exchange their talents in the hospital for credits towards healthcare. For each hour of approved art activity provided by an artist, 40 credits (equivalent to dollars for use within Woodhull to see a doctor or dentist) will be credited to your personal account. Each artist will be fee-scaled based on income and can use these credits to pay for his/her individual fee. Please call 877-244-5600 to speak directly with the program coordinator for more information.
